Heart Soft As Gold
She's weathered the storm of many a hard time |
And survived the high waves that drown the weak |
The short life, has been a hard life, painful and |
Challenging her every wit with tongue in cheek |
A woman hard on the outside, with a heart soft as gold |
There's been many a man try to bridle her spirit |
And keep her under their thumb |
But she came back, rearing and raring to go |
With no way to hold her, or make her succumb |
A woman hard on the outside, with a heart soft as gold |
She carries her staff with a warning to mind her |
Respect her ways and no harsh words to bind her |
In her left hand are flowers she keeps always behind her |
She'll only let you see them if you're as soft as fur |
A woman hard on the Outside, with a heart soft as gold |
