Mercury was the Winged messenger of the gods, setting new records wherever he flew. For many reasons Witches choose to focus primarily on the Goddess, as she represents that aspect of the All that is nurturing and compassionate, enabling growth, fertility and gentleness.  She can also display her wrath, just as the female can, but for the most part we call her up in those gentler aspects. 

The Goddess is immanent. In other words, she is in everything, and is everywhere.  She is not some force that looks down on us from above..  The Goddess, dwells in every single aspect of nature; whether it be a rock, and animal, every drop of rain, and inside you.
